This study aimed to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on students’ activeness in Information and Communication Technology material in Grade X at SMA Negeri 1 Pinogaluman. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design involving two groups, namely the control class and the experimental class. The research sample consisted of 30 students, divided equally into 15 students in each group. Data collection was conducted using student activeness observation sheets based on six indicators: listening activities, oral activities, visual activities, emotional activities, writing activities, and mental activities. Data analysis was carried out through normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using the independent sample t-test with the assistance of SPSS. The results showed that the data were normally distributed and met the requirements for parametric testing. The hypothesis test indicated a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of < 0.05, meaning that there was a significant difference between student activeness in the control class and the experimental class. The average level of student activeness in the control class was 68.8% and categorized as active, while in the experimental class it reached 90.3% and was categorized as very active. These findings indicate that the implementation of the PjBL model had a positive and significant effect on improving student activeness. Therefore, the Project Based Learning model is proven to be effective in enhancing student activeness and can serve as an innovative alternative learning model, particularly in informatics subjects.
