Rice stem borer pests are a plant pest that can cause serious damage to the growth and production of rice plants (Oryza sativa L.). This study aims to determine the species composition and intensity of rice stem borer attacks. This study was conducted from March to October 2025 in Poowo Village, Kabila District, Bone Bolanggo Regency and in Talaki Village, Paleleh District, Buol Regency, and at the Plant Pest and Disease Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Gorontalo State University. This study used a survey method by sampling rice stem borer larvae and adults from the field using light traps for 10 weeks at weekly intervals. The intensity of rice stem borer attacks was observed at five plant points using the diagonal method at 2-10 weeks after planting (WAP). The results showed that there were three species of rice stem borers found, namely Scirpophaga incertulas (yellow rice stem borer), Scirpophaga innotata (white rice stem borer) and Chilo suppressalis (striped rice stem borer). Chilo suppressalis was the most dominant species found during the study at 54%, followed by Scirpophaga inotata at 36% and Scirpophaga incertulas at 10%. The intensity of rice stem borer attacks fluctuated, because the value fluctuated during the observation period from 2 to 10 WAP.
