This study aims to analyze community participation in the construction of Livable Housing (RLH) in Talaga Jaya District, Gorontalo Regency. The research focuses on four main indicators of participation: decision-making, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and utilization of results. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The informants consisted of village officials, BPD members, and RLH assistance recipients in three villages: Hutadaa, Bunggalo, and Buhu. The findings indicate that the level of community participation varies across the four indicators. Community members tend to be more active in the implementation and utilization stages, as seen in activities such as working together during construction and maintaining the completed houses. In contrast, participation in decision-making and evaluation remains relatively low due to the limited availability of dedicated forums that directly involve residents. Several factors influence participation levels, including education, economic conditions, access to information, and local cultural values. In conclusion, the success of the RLH program is strongly linked to active community involvement from the planning stage through to maintenance. Enhancing mechanisms that encourage inclusive participation is essential to ensure that housing development is more equitable, responsive to community needs, and sustainable over the long term.
Dini AriskaYanti AnetaAlfiyah Agussalim

https://eresearchjournal.transbahasa.co.id/index.php/er/article/view/240

This study examines the portrayal of American religious stereotypes of Islam in the context of the 9/11 conflict as depicted in Ridley Scott’s Body of Lies. Using the theory of stereotypes and Swingewood’s sociology of literature, the research explores the relationship between factual and fictional realities. The analysis focuses on the film’s characters, plot, and setting to uncover how stereotypes are constructed and challenged. Findings reveal that the film conveys religious stereotypes through figures such as Al-Saleem, jihadist groups, and violent narratives linked to Islamic symbols. Simultaneously, it offers a critique of Western—particularly U.S.—policies via characters like Ed Hoffman and Roger Ferris, who engage in deception, manipulation, and covert operations. Notably, the character Hani Salaam is portrayed as a rational, honest, and principled Muslim, serving as a narrative counterpoint to negative depictions. Overall, Body of Lies presents a complex interplay between reinforcing and contesting religious stereotypes within a post-9/11 sociopolitical framework.
Sofhiatulhuda UsmanMery BalangoFarid Muhamad

In construction projects, there are four main aspects that must be considered: cost, time, quality, and occupational safety. One of the biggest challenges is the cost aspect, which often faces issues such as budget overruns, overtime work, and quality degradation. These issues can be categorized as unnecessary costs. One approach that can be used to reduce unnecessary costs is the application of the Value Engineering concept. The implementation of Value Engineering is carried out through field surveys, participatory observations, and secondary data analysis from project documents such as the Budget Plan (RAB), Detailed Engineering Design (DED), and Unit Price Analysis (AHSP). The analysis is conducted through several stages, including the Cost Model, Cost Breakdown, Pareto rule analysis, function analysis, creative stage, Value Engineering analysis, Life Cycle Cost analysis, and recommendation stage. The results show that the application of Value Engineering in architectural works can provide significant cost efficiency. The total savings reached IDR 69,552,162.86, or 10%. Specifically, for wall works, the applied alternative resulted in savings of 7.53% or IDR 62,784,374.25. For door and window frame works, the selected alternative generated savings of 1.09% or IDR 4,503,000.00. Meanwhile, for flooring works, the applied alternative was able to save 1.4% or IDR 2,264,788.61.
Wirandi S. AliMohammad Yusuf TuloliArfan Utiarahman

https://eresearchjournal.transbahasa.co.id/index.php/er/article/view/221

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of the Autoregressive Fractionally Integrated Moving Average (ARFIMA) model and the Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average–Feedforward Neural Network (ARIMA-FFNN) hybrid model in forecasting the stock price of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk. Forecasting stock prices is a crucial aspect of financial decision-making since accurate predictions can support investors and policymakers in minimizing risks and maximizing returns. In this study, the ARFIMA(1,d,1) model and the ARIMA(0,d,2)-FFNN(0,2) hybrid model were applied to historical daily stock price data of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk. The performance of both models was evaluated using the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE), which is widely recognized as a reliable metric for measuring prediction accuracy. The results revealed that the ARFIMA(1,d,1) model generated a MAPE value of 2.11%, while the ARIMA(0,d,2)-FFNN(0,2) model achieved a significantly lower MAPE value of 1.28%. These findings indicate that the hybrid ARIMA-FFNN approach provides more accurate forecasting results compared to the ARFIMA model. Therefore, the ARIMA(0,d,2)-FFNN(0,2) model can be considered a more optimal and reliable forecasting method for predicting stock prices in PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk. The results of this study highlight the potential of combining traditional time series models with machine learning approaches to enhance forecasting accuracy in financial markets.
Afandi W.
Mustard greens (Brassica juncea L.) are among the most widely consumed vegetables and play an important role in supporting food and nutritional security. This study aimed to evaluate the tolerance of different mustard green varieties to drought stress and to analyze the interaction between drought stress and variety performance. The experiment was conducted from April to May 2025 at the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo (UNG), using a split-plot design with two factors: drought stress and plant variety. Drought stress was designated as the main plot, consisting of three levels: C0 = 100% field capacity (FC), C1 = 50% FC, and C2 = 30% FC. The subplot consisted of two mustard green varieties: V1 = Puteri and V2 = Shinta. These treatments resulted in six treatment combinations (C0V1, C0V2, C1V1, C1V2, C2V1, and C2V2), each replicated three times, producing a total of 18 experimental units. Each unit consisted of four polybags measuring 20 × 20 cm. The results revealed that the two mustard green varieties exhibited different responses in terms of growth and yield under drought stress conditions. The Puteri variety demonstrated greater tolerance to drought stress compared to the Shinta variety. An interaction was observed between drought stress and variety on plant height at two weeks after transplanting. Furthermore, drought stress at 50% field capacity was still able to meet the water requirements of mustard greens, as shown by plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, and fresh weight.
Muzakir DukalangNikmah MusaFauzan Zakaria

Transportation plays a crucial role in supporting daily human activities, with significant impacts on economic, social, and environmental aspects. In Gorontalo City, one of the main challenges is traffic congestion, particularly along Prof. DR. H.B. Jassin Street, which experiences high mobility due to diverse land use functions. This condition highlights the need to examine the extent to which land use influences travel attraction on this corridor. The aim of this study is to analyze the effect of land use variables—including building area, number of employees, and number of visitors—on travel attraction along Prof. DR. H.B. Jassin Street. The research employed field observations, surveys, and quantitative analysis using multiple linear regression with SPSS software. The results indicate that all three independent variables significantly affect travel attraction, with building area emerging as the most dominant factor in explaining variations in travel demand. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination shows that the regression model is capable of explaining most of the variations in travel attraction. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating land use considerations into urban transportation planning. Consequently, the study recommends the need for stricter land use management, improved transportation systems, and better road infrastructure arrangements to reduce traffic congestion while enhancing the quality of the urban environment in a more sustainable manner.
Ferrina Pangemanan AnoYuliyanti KadirFrice Lahmudin Desei

The rapid growth of population has significantly increased the demand for housing, leading to the acceleration of residential construction projects. In this context, the efficiency of project scheduling methods plays a critical role in ensuring timely delivery and optimal resource utilization. This study aims to compare the effectiveness of the Line of Balance (LoB) and the Precedence Diagram Method (PDM) in the construction of the Citra Agrindo III Housing project. Employing a descriptive approach and utilizing secondary data such as S-curves and project time schedules, the research provides a detailed analysis of each method’s strengths and limitations. The findings reveal that the PDM method results in a shorter project duration, completing construction in 119 days, which is 4 days faster than the LoB method, requiring 123 days. This indicates that PDM is more effective in projects where task dependencies and sequencing play a significant role, as it clearly maps the relationships between activities. On the other hand, LoB demonstrates its superiority in managing repetitive tasks, ensuring smoother resource allocation and workflow consistency across housing units. The results highlight that both methods possess distinct advantages depending on project characteristics. Thus, project managers are encouraged to select scheduling methods that align with the nature of the project to achieve greater efficiency in both time and cost management. This comparison contributes to the broader understanding of construction project management and provides practical insights for improving scheduling strategies in the residential sector.
Nadiva Eka Putri GobelMohammad Yusuf TuloliArfan Usman Sumaga

https://eresearchjournal.transbahasa.co.id/index.php/er/article/view/242

This study examines the population dynamics of mud crabs (Scylla serrata) by incorporating the biological phenomenon of cannibalism into a mathematical model. The model considers the mud crab population as consisting of two age classes, namely juvenile mud crabs and adult mud crabs. The formulation produces two equilibrium points: the extinction equilibrium E0 = (0,0), which represents the disappearance of the entire population, and the coexistence equilibrium E∗ = (CJ∗,CA∗), which indicates the persistence of both juveniles and adults. Stability analysis shows that the extinction point E0 is asymptotically stable if α < µ2/r - µ while the coexistence point E∗ remains stable when the intrinsic growth rate α lies within the interval α > α1 and α < α2. These results emphasize that the long-term survival of the population depends on critical biological parameters. Numerical simulations further support the analytical findings by demonstrating that the abundance of mud crabs is highly sensitive to variations in growth rate, competition intensity, and predation levels. In particular, an increase in cannibalistic behavior significantly alters the balance between juvenile and adult populations, potentially leading to population decline if not moderated. The findings of this study provide useful insights into the ecological dynamics of Scylla serrata, which is a species of high economic and ecological importance in mangrove ecosystems. Furthermore, the integration of mathematical modeling and numerical simulation offers a valuable framework for understanding complex interactions in aquatic populations and may serve as a reference for sustainable management strategies in mud crab fisheries.
Randy FerdiansyahIsmail DjakariaAgusyarif Rezka Nuha

https://eresearchjournal.transbahasa.co.id/index.php/er/article/view/259

This study investigates the Sentence structure utilization in English academic writing courses of students in ELESP. This study utilizes a descriptive qualitative method with a cross-sectional design to describe the sentence structure utilization between students from the 2020 and 2021 academic years. The results convey that students' command of sentence structures exhibits both promising aspects and areas requiring substantial improvement. The most prominent pattern observed is the heavy reliance on simple and compound sentences in academic writing tasks. Furthermore, the study has uncovered a significant correlation between sentence structure variety and sentence structure problems in their academic writing. However, many students tend to fall back on familiar patterns, resulting in monotonous writing that fails to effectively capture the nuances of academic argumentation. The findings reveal that students of both academic years could construct sentences, but were only able to compose simple and compound sentences when compiling their writing assignments. Therefore, this study provides pedagogical implications for academic writing students, underscores the development of students’ sentence structure competency, and the learning process to facilitate the students with the proper educational resources.
Siti SafitriZulkifli TanipuSri Widyarti Ali

Indonesia, as the largest archipelagic country in the world, has enormous marine and fisheries potential, with around 3.25 million km2 of sea area and 2.55 million km2 of Exclusive Economic Zone. One of the leading sectors that supports the national economy is fisheries, with exports reaching IDR 73.68 trillion in 2019. Gorontalo Province, located in the northern part of Sulawesi Island, has enormous fisheries potential, especially skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis), which is a leading commodity with production that continues to increase from 2017 to 2021. However, skipjack tuna is sold in fresh form which is susceptible to damage, and there are limited processed products available on the market. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to develop efficient skipjack tuna processing based on modern technology. One solution that can be applied is processing with methods such as canning, drying, or smoking, which can extend the shelf life and increase the added value of the product. The development of skipjack tuna processing in Gorontalo can be supported by a Tropical Architecture approach, which is designed according to the tropical climate conditions in the area. This approach will not only create comfortable, efficient, and environmentally friendly buildings, but also support the sustainability of natural resources and increase the competitiveness of Gorontalo's fishery products in local and international markets.
Fitri RahmanErnawatiSyafriyani

Labor productivity is a crucial factor in determining the efficiency and success of construction project implementation. This study aims to measure labor productivity in the field using the Labor Utilization Rate (LUR) and compare it with the Unit Price Analysis (AHSP) SNI 2024 standards. The research was conducted on the HBEC Building construction project, focusing on the reinforcement work of the first-floor column in the meeting room area. The work sampling method with a productivity rating approach was employed to obtain actual labor productivity data on-site. The results show that the LUR value reached 82.97%, far above the minimum productivity threshold of 50%. This indicates that the labor productivity level on the project is considered high and satisfactory. Furthermore, a comparison between on-site productivity and the AHSP 2024 standards revealed that the average labor productivity on-site was 20 kg/day, while AHSP 2024 recorded 20.47 kg/day. The very small difference suggests that the actual labor productivity on-site is nearly equivalent to the national standards, reflecting efficient performance in project implementation. Overall, this study concludes that the work sampling method is effective in evaluating construction labor productivity. These findings are expected to serve as a practical reference for project managers and stakeholders in optimizing labor performance and improving project implementation efficiency in the future.
Yolanda AbdullahSartika Dewi UsmanMohammad Yusuf Tuloli Usman

This study was motivated by the low realization of hotel tax revenue in Gorontalo Regency, which has failed to meet the target for the past five years despite various policies being implemented. The objective of this study is to describe the hotel tax administration system at the Regional Revenue Agency of Gorontalo Regency, focusing on three main aspects: the tax collection system, the quality of services provided to taxpayers, and the utilization of information technology in tax administration. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using data collection techniques such as observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the tax collection system applies a self-assessment method, in which taxpayers calculate, deposit, and report their taxes independently. However, the implementation of this method has not been accompanied by a satisfactory level of taxpayer compliance. In terms of services, tax officers have provided relatively good administrative services but have not been optimal in conducting socialization and education activities for taxpayers. Meanwhile, the utilization of information technology through the SIPADA application has been introduced to facilitate tax reporting and payment but has not yet operated effectively due to limited taxpayer understanding and several technical constraints. In conclusion, the hotel tax administration system in Gorontalo Regency has not yet functioned effectively. Therefore, strengthening supervision, improving service quality, and optimizing the use of information technology are essential to significantly and sustainably increase the region’s Own-Source Revenue (PAD).
Annisa Adriana MaksudRustam TohopiUdin Hamim

The tender process in construction project procurement is pivotal for determining the success of infrastructure development A vital part of this process is the method of determining the bid price used by contractors to secure a probability of winning while also achieving optimum profit. This study aimed to analyze and compare the mark-up value, win probability, and expected profit using two bidding strategy models the Friedman Model and the Gates Model in the construction project bidding process at the North Bolaang Mongondow Regency LPSE for the 2022-2023 period. The method used was a statistical approach involving the processing of secondary data from completed project bid data. The analysis was conducted on mark-up data. and the probability of winning and expected profit were calculated for each model The analysis results revealed that each model had distinct characteristics in determining the best bidding strategy The Friedman Model tends to produce more cautious mark-up values with a stable win probability, while the Gates Model offers a bolder approach in its expected profit calculation. Thus, this study has been able to notify construction practitioners in formulating policies on the importance of selecting a bidding strategy method that aligns with market conditions and the number of competitors, thereby enhancing effectiveness in the construction project tender process.
Saviha PahataMohamad Yusuf TuloliArfan Utiarahman

According to the Institute for Human and Ecological Studies (INHIDES, 2023), from January to June 2023, there were 17 suicide cases in Gorontalo Province, averaging 3–4 cases per month. Furthermore, data show that only 8% of people with mental disorders in Gorontalo receive adequate healthcare services. The high number of suicides and the low percentage of people with mental disorders receiving adequate healthcare highlight the urgent need for preventive mental health measures. This study emphasizes art therapy as an effective approach to addressing mental health issues by using art as a means of expression. A descriptive research method was employed to explain current symptoms, events, and phenomena. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, documentation, literature review, and comparative studies. Data analysis was conducted descriptively to provide a comprehensive understanding of the issues studied. The proposed Art Therapy Center, designed with a Biophilic Architecture approach, is expected to serve as an innovative solution to support mental health services in Gorontalo, not only focusing on rehabilitation but also raising public awareness about the importance of mental health through integration with the natural environment.
Zulkifli OtayaHeryatiNiniek Pratiwi

This study examines the impact of scheduling methods on time efficiency in housing construction projects, focusing on the problem of delays caused by inappropriate scheduling techniques. In many projects, the lack of alignment between the chosen scheduling method and the repetitive nature of construction activities often results in overlapping work, idle time, and inefficient resource allocation. To address this issue, the study applies the Line of Balance (LoB) method to the Griya Aulia Permai Housing Project and compares its effectiveness with the conventional scheduling method currently in use. The LoB method is particularly suitable for projects involving repetitive tasks, such as housing developments, where similar units are built sequentially. By arranging work in a continuous and balanced manner, LoB minimizes disruptions and idle periods between different work groups. Each trade can proceed smoothly without waiting for others to finish, ensuring optimal workflow across project stages. Analysis of the Griya Aulia Permai project reveals a significant improvement in scheduling efficiency. Under the existing method, the project duration was planned for 480 days. However, using the LoB approach, the total construction time was reduced to only 289 days, representing a time saving of 191 days. This reduction not only improves productivity but also has positive implications for project cost control and client satisfaction. In conclusion, adopting the LoB method in housing construction scheduling offers a more efficient and systematic approach, making it highly recommended for projects with repetitive construction elements to ensure timely completion and enhanced resource utilization.
Mohamad Rifaldi MahmudArfan Usman SumagaMoh Yusuf Tuloli
